Home insurance renewal going up? Our independent Jacksonville agency helps you understand the differences and compare available options for your situation.
A request starts a conversation. It does not bind coverage.
BEFORE YOU CHOOSE A POLICY
Answers before you choose.
Home insurance renewal going up?
A lower premium is useful only when you understand what changed. Compare the rebuilding limit, roof settlement, water-damage restrictions and hurricane deductible together. Solid Trust helps you compare available options for your home, including an older roof or updated systems, without assuming the cheapest quote offers the same protection.
How much would I pay after a hurricane?
A percentage hurricane deductible is based on the insured dwelling limit, not the repair bill. For example, 2% of a $300,000 dwelling limit is $6,000. This is an illustration, not a quote. Compare that potential expense with your savings before choosing a larger deductible.

COVERAGE, EXPLAINED
Understand your options.
Roof age: what actually matters?
Tell us the replacement year, material and condition, not just the age of the house. A newer roof may improve options, but no roof year guarantees a discount. Keep permits, invoices and inspection reports.
Does a hip roof help?
A hip roof slopes on all sides. Its shape can qualify for a Florida wind-mitigation credit when documented under the applicable inspection rules. Roof attachments, opening protection and other features also matter; credits are not a fixed discount on the entire premium.
Older home, updated systems
The construction year is only part of the picture. Roof, electrical, plumbing and heating/cooling updates can affect underwriting. A four-point inspection checks these systems; a wind-mitigation inspection documents wind-resistant features. They serve different purposes.
Compare the claim, not only the premium
Ask how the roof would be valued after a covered loss, how hurricane and other deductibles work, and whether water backup or ordinance-and-law coverage is included. Rebuilding cost differs from the purchase price. Flood normally needs separate coverage.
What if I don’t know an answer?
Choose “Not sure” where available or leave optional fields blank. If you get stuck, call (904) 792-2222 and we’ll help you take the next step.
Does submitting a form start my coverage?
No. Your request does not bind, change or cancel insurance. Coverage starts only after the appropriate confirmation and any insurer requirements are completed.
